Sleater Kinney says goodbye to Kill Rock Stars and hello to Sub Pop. [Done Waiting]
The Decemberists - “Human Behavior” [Stereogum]
The Strokes fan club is shutting down. ProductshopNYC thinks it’s because, “less than 2,000 people signed up for the club?” Comments left on the post think differently; “They are ending the fan club due to legalities regarding the Fan Club mailing, which accidentily mailed an adult pornography dvd out in place of a band dvd.” Maybe. New Bloodjinn MP3, See Through. [Vendetta Zine]
Coolfer has a cool quote from Brian Fair of Shadows Fall [iTunes], in regards to being diagnosed with strep throat and laryngitis;
“if Curt Shilling can lead the Red Sox to a World Series victory with a sewn up ankle then I can tough it out and bring the metal.”
CBS News has behind the scenes footage of our dear Ashlee Simpson after she ran off stage during last weeks SNL “performance.”

Poor Ashlee and her sore throat.
My my, how has Buzzgrinder avoided the political realm until a few days before the election? With that:
Bush campaign agrees to stop playing Still the One. You know, with about four days to go.
“This brutal ordeal is now officially over,” says Bill O’Reilly. He’s talking about his recent sexual harrasment lawsuit, and not the presidential debates.
NASA photo analyst: Bush wore a device during debate. Oh well.
The fake troops in Bush’s new ad. Fun with photoshop!
And just so no one thinks I’m all pro-Kerry: Anybody but this guy. Oh yea, and he’s a flip-flop! Whatever. Just be sure to get out Tuesday and vote, aight?

This album has been getting pretty good reviews everywhere (PunkNews.org said, “Vocally, lyrically, musically, all the pieces fit masterfully together,” and Daniel at Deep Fry Bonza says, “interesting enough that they’ll definitely spice up an ordinarily bland diet of emo records.” Decapolis said the album is a , “pleasant surprise.” Delusions of Adequacy says they, “delivered a really solid album.”), but I’m going with Chris Brickhouse of Stereo Killer on this one; this sounds like what everyone else is doing. I just can not get into this at all. Melodic hardcore, with all it’s pretty guitar parts, breakdowns, and singing… watch out, for sure.
Plenty of kiddies and writers are going nuts over The Arcade Fire - and the Morning News is no different. They call their latest, Funeral, “an album that defies comparison.”
Dan emailed me, said, “heard a sufjan stevens song, off of seven swans, on xm radio channel 75 (the voice of starbucks).” Is the whole Satellite Radio thing something more “indie” artists are striving for these days? Should they? I mean, how many scenesters talk about their XM Radio subscription?
Harvest Earth is re-releasing the Beauty to Ashes In the Silence we Fight album. It’s been remasterd, has new artwork, and is yours for just $4.99.
Go Fearless; they’ll be “re-issuing At The Drive-In’s Relationship of Command, Acrobatic Tenement, Vaya, and In/Casino/Out on November 9, 2004.” They’ll also be two bonus tracks on the Relationship of Command CD. Now that’s some good stuff.
This could not wait; The new iPod Ashlee Simpson Karaoke Edition for Pop Stars.
Unlike other members of the iPod family, iPod Ashlee Simpson Karaoke Edition makes lip syncing to music sheer delight. Taking a cue from our one-button computer mice, we have eliminated the confusion of five buttons and trimmed it down to a fast-forward. Just click the large button and you’re on to the next song!
And in case you don’t realize it, this is a JOKE.
Wired Magazine has a CD included in their latest issue, including bands like My Morning Jacket, Beastie Boys, Le Tigre, and more. The neat thing is it’s all done under the Creative Commons License.
