Coldplay Preview

You can now head on over to the official Coldplay site and listen to 1-minute previews of each song off their new soon-to-be-released album, X&Y (June 7). They previously had a full-album stream available, but due to bandwidth problems, they quickly reduced each song down to one measly minute.

EDIT: You can stream the full album here.

McDonalds wants to supersize your gadgets, Best Image Ever!

According to this article, McDonalds wants to pwnz your iPod, laptop, cell phone and most likely your pants too.

The new splash for hxcboards.com is quite possibley the best thing I’ve ever seen.

Haste The Day Review

So I was lucky enough to catch Haste The Day playing with The Calico System, Where Eagles Dare and my buddies The Hope Of Change. I have to say, Haste The Day nails their sound live, the played all the hits along with about three new songs. If you enjoy HTD than you have alot to look forward to from their new album. All of the melodic singing was tight and well written, with excellent harmony. The screaming is just as chaotic as it was on Burning Bridges, only a little more matured. There were plenty of breakdowns for the bandana-wearing, camouflage-ridden, American Eagle distressed short buyers to get their ninja kicks on. The only down side to seeing them live was their stage presence. I mean, I love watching a band rock out…but seeing 4 of the 5 band members doing sweeping head bangs in unison got real annoying after the first 2 songs.

Anyway, Be sure to head to their purevolme site to check out their new track When Everything Falls

More Next Generation Console News

E3 has came and left us with much information regarding the future of our favorite video game systems. As Dan mentioned in his previous post, the new Nintendo Revolution looks quite promising. Not many technical details have been released about this one but it is definitely something to keep your eye on. I found this article with loads of Q&A from a high-up at Nintendo about the Revolution.

The X-Box 360 picture that I posted last month ended up being the real deal. The specs on this one are most impressive. It seems as though Microsoft took many of the aspects you could mod on the first system and included them legal and mod-free on the 360. For a run-down on all the hardware aspects, visit this link.

And, in my opinion, the one to beat in the next round of the console wars is the PS3. It has some massive computing power and looks to include some of the media device capabilities that the X-Box has already included. The only flaw is the design in my opinion. For the hardware specs, visit this link.

Kevin Rose leaves G4, Systm Launches.

Kevin Rose recently announced his departure from G4 Television on the This Week In Tech Podcast. Rose, one of the few original Tech TV personalities left, is leaving to concentrate on the new market of downloadable television programming. Systm, his latest venture in that market, has its fist episode ready for download on its official website. He plans on featuring one tech topic per episode and former Tech TV members. Its not the original Screensavers, but its probably as close as we’ll be able to get.

On his blog, he states that, “Starting with today’s premiere release of our new tech HOW-TO show Systm, we will begin to build a network of technology television programming from the ground up.” So hopefully he’ll have luck because the original ZDTV/TechTV was a wonderful thing, if he can capture that same spirit then I’ll be checking it out for sure.

Star Wars Bootlegs and Their Aftermath

With bootleg copies of Star Wars Ep. III hitting the internet and street vendors around six hours before its premiere, the higher ups felt need to take action at an easy target.

According to IMDB.com’s Studio Briefing, “The Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the Motion Picture Association of America joined forces Wednesday to shut down Elite Torrents, accusing the website of helping people download illegal copies of copyrighted movies. ” The article goes on to state that the agents involved also “.. executed search warrants in eight states against administrators of the website, perhaps grabbing the names of thousands of users of the site as they did.”

The Movie was reported as being downloaded 10,000 times within the first 24 hours of its availability.

Also, in other Star Wars related news, please don’t make your own light sabers out of Fluorescent Tubes and Fuel.

Sorry Gang

Hey gang - sorry for the lack of updates on my part. I’m in PA now using dialup, and we’re gearing up for some big Memorial Day party, plus I’m trying to get around and see some friends. In the meantime you’re in the capable hands of Jon and Dan and Jeremy, so you’ll be just fine. Enjoy your weekend, yo!

PS. New header logo in the works. Design is fun!
