When I first got this disc to review, I popped it in as me and my wife were on our way somewhere in the car. My first reaction was “This doesn’t sound like something Equal Vision would put out”. First thing that crossed my mind was the music reminded me of Soundgarden in some way, but upon my second listen I’d probley liken it more to something like Stavesacre. This is definatly not your typical EVR release, theres no ultra-emoish melody’s or tuffguy antics, rather 49 minutes of balls out riff heavy rock. Between the gutwrenching yelps of vocalist Jesse David, you can hear traces of some Zepplin influance sneaking out from the warm, thick guitarwork of Pete Cortese. The rhythm section of Jeff Fultz and Derek Kerswill is solid, if a bit bland at times, which most likely means I need to stop listening to Shai Hulud before doing any and all reviews.
I can definatly see these guys fitting in much better at Ozzfest than Hellfest though, with the polished mainstream sound this album has.
Never the less this is a refreshing sound in a sea of heartbroken Gap kids who scream about razors and girlfriends and pirates or whatever is depressingly popular these days. Kudos to Seemless for daring to bring back a sound that isn’t very popular these days, for they do it extremley well.

well, I like Stavesacre and I like Jesse David’s singing voice…so I might have to check these guys out.
I’m mainly a fan of Speakeasy though. is it like Speakeasy-era Stavesacre or their earlier stuff?
ehh.. kinda.
it’s definatly not like the new “Radio-friendly” type stavesacre stuff.
good. I hate everything after Speakeasy. not that there’s much else after it.
