Boy Sets Fire Breaks Up

Boy Sets Fire has announced they will be breaking up after a few overseas dates.

We wanted to collectively inform you that BOYSETSFIRE has decided to retire. Thank you all for your support and belief in us over the last 12 years…please know it meant the world to us. BOYSETSFIRE for us was always a vehicle for changing the world and we believe that change comes about by starting with yourself, so instead of awaiting certain things to come our way, as always we decided to take our destiny in our own hands. We’re not sure which path each of us will take from here on out, but we plan to continue following our dreams.

I’ll drag him in, you give him mouth to mouth. Deal?

Giant Squid - Metridian Fields [amazon.com]
Release date: September 12, 2006

Looks like the designer took some painting (not sure what era it’s from - the style looks wholly Renaissance) and added some markings and weird waves. Not really sure what they were going for, but it doesn’t look all that striking to me. Any ideas on what the original work is?

Thrice’s Ambitious Recording Plans

Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue talks with MTV about Thrice’s plans for Vheissu’s follow-up;

“There’s going to be four discs, and they will each be themed differently…It will be a large body of music — maybe around 25 songs or so. I’ve never been a fan of double albums; I’m a fan of shorter records. This will kind of be just multiple, shorter records, and each one will be self-sufficient. But also, they all tie into each other. We have a lot of bass material written for it, and we’re kind of at this point where we have the core parts of the songs written, and we’ve been getting together and trying to flesh those out.
