Here's what's been happening at BurnLounge over the last few months.

FTC files suit. Juan "Alex" Arnold resigns as CEO of BurnLounge. Change in business model.

August 24th - All BurnLounge employees are laid off.

BurnLounge has failed to pay it's former employees their last earned wages. Supposedly, there is no money in the company as of right now.

Ryan Dadd and Stephen Murray are no longer with BurnLounge. They have left to pursue interests in another company that they created called "RevImage".

Hey Free Music store:

Please go to www.burnlounge.com/whistlercanada to get your FREE store.

So, what exactly is a FreeStore?

Excellent question.

There are two substantive differences between a FreeStore and your Store:

BurnLounge Free Retailers cannot redeem their BurnRewards points for cash.
There is less customization available in a FreeStore.
I assume your next question is: How do I make money from a FreeStore?

Another great question!

As a paid BurnLounge Retailer, you earn from Free Retailers in three ways:

You earn the same commission structure on product sales. Whether from music, movies, or software - you earn exactly the same amount as you would from a paid Retailer on your team.
You earn from any advertising revenue that is generated from not only their Store, but also their BurnPage. Process that information for a moment. You now have the same business model as MySpace. You earn ad revenue from every community page and Store in your network.
Finally, you earn product commissions and Mogul bonuses when a Free Retailer upgrades to a paid package. Why would they upgrade? Simple. Every Free Retailer has an account summary page where they see how many BurnRewards points they have earned. From that page they will clearly see that by not having one of the paid BurnLounge packages, they are leaving real money on the table. It is the ultimate marketing pitch. Don't just tell them they can earn. Show them!
So there it is. BurnLounge is free. The market opportunity for this product is massive. The entire MySpace community was built on the back of indie bands and their fans hooking up to talk about music. What started with a few bands and fans turned into 125 million members in just a couple short years.
Now all of those people can actually profit from doing what they already do!
It's a cool environment and a way to receive compensation for selling music and movies to your friends. And it's free!

That is a product that anyone can sell.

1) The iPod can play ANY mp3 - IT is not the closed system. Windows DRM is the closed system, which means that burnlounge is purposely making files that are unplayable on the ipod because they chose to go with the cheap copy-protected formula
2) As long as there is drm on the file, the big music companies will let ANYONE sell the music, they don't consider it a "partnership" - burnlounge is not "special"
3) The ipod was NOT first - it was the best. There were a dozen or so other music players out before the ipod. The fact is that the 80% of all music players sold are ipods. Not the other way around. Yes there mabye 40 other music players being sold, comprising 80% of the models, but all those 40 players sales add up to less than 20% of the players sold.

I remember when Rick Cane and I double teamed this chick, Super Mario Brothers style. I gave her the "One-Up Mushroom print" on her face while I listened to "Heartbeat it's a Love Beat" by Litttle Tony DeFranco and the DeFranco Family. Rick Cane the busted out something I've never seen before. A real life Rusty Trombone! Man that Rick Cane, eh, he's the guy!
