ONLINE MUSIC: Motion Commotion

Motion Commotion is an indie band from New York, who’s “live shows are well-rehearsed unique multi-media experiences with energy, violins, three part harmony, intricate counterpoints, and tape collages.” The band members are definitely stacked in the credentials area, having studied under Grammy winning composers and the like. Their self-titled debut EP was produced by Jesse Cannon (The Cure, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Saves the Day). This is a band definitely worth checking out. Listen

There used to be a band near Seattle called Ocean Kamotion. They were probably the worst band I’ve ever seen.

My band was fortunate enough to be able to share the bill with these guys in Mobile, AL, and I’ve got to say the performance was incredible. The music was great. The violin, the tape loops, everything fit nicely in the soundscape. I was truly impressed and wish these guys the best in their pursuits. If anyone gets a chance to see these guys perform, please do. You’ll be glad you did.
