Brandon Flowers has found himself in the midst of another conflict of sorts with Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom Delonge. Flowers’ comment that The Killers latest record would be one of the best released in the “past 20 years” sounds similar to a statement made by Delonge regarding Angels & Airwaves debut. Delonge feels that he inspired Flowers comments and had the following to say to MTV News.
I back the fact that he did it…Labels are struggling, bands can’t get on radio and something new is needed now. But didn’t he know I said that? I mean, he must have heard that I said that first, right?
Delonge goes on to expound on the importance of his group and how people will understand A&A on a “deeper level” next year.
Boy this is like, Bum Fights or something.
haha yea. its like, i hesitated to post this due to the three killers stories that still come up in our active comments. but this one involved another party so i went with it.
never listen to a&a no care to
what about AA?
hands hand hands
feet feet feet
I thihk it’s quite arragant to say your record or group are that important or good. We’ll probably forget both soon.
Slap fight!
Aaron from mewithoutYou should be the next to make the claim. He could back it.
Soda Pressing 2000 is the best thing in rock for the past 200 years.
There’s probably only a couple of “timeless” bands out there right now. As much as I don’t like them, Coldplay is probably one of them. However, any band that wears eye makeup that’s not from the 80’s will not be one of the most important bands ever. But who really knows, I guess not everyone expected Nirvana to be one of the most important bands ever. Especially not me, since I love Pearl Jam wayyy more.
Coldplay- agreed.
Delonge road home- that’s what A&A will be taking.
I like A&A. but the last Blink 182 album was my favorite…
hmm…isn’t it possible that this is just coincedence..i mean it’s not that complex of a sentence and it’s logical that it could be said more than once.
Wow, somebody get these guys a myspace site, they need publicity BAD.
To the Coldplay comments above, I completely agree. Their music is timeless and I see them as a career band doing this for the same length of time that U2 has lasted. All these makeup bands are the new glam rock and they will be forgotten in a few years just like the last trend of spikey dyed hair pop punk.
anyone check out the rotten mtv news site redo? ad city
Ego vs. Ego
anyone who could possibly believe that about a killers or a&a album should just go on thinking that. santa might bring them some autographed cds or something. then next year, maybe the easter bunny will leave them some eggs with logos on them. after that, they and the easter bunny, along with mickey mouse, eric cartman, and napoleon dynamite can all go to a show together….
sometimes you gotta be buzzkill and ride a one line joke right into the ground to get the point across.
no no no.. buzzgrind

VH1 story on musical bragging.
Bands I’d actually consider timeless right now…
Coldplay
Radiohead
Green Day
White Stripes
And I think, to some extent, Bright Eyes will have a lasting, Dylan-esque impression on this generation.
Those are the bands where, 20 years from now when some new band comes along, people will be like, Green Day-esque, or Coldplay-esque… or whatever.
its weird…i dont mind what tom says,
his album its not that great as the killers album is :S so sorry
tom delonge is such an arrogant prick.
Blink 182 sucked and this dumbass is a terrible singer. His new band ain’t worth shit.
