Vans Warped Tour 2006

The Warped Tour was created in 1994 by Kevin Lyman, who got the idea while working on skateboarding shows—such as the Vision Skate Escape and Holiday Havoc—which included music with skateboarding contests. The Warped name comes from the short-lived Warp Magazine published by Transworld—it tried to combine surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and music into one glossy package.” [Warped Tour Wiki]

HOLY FUCK! THE GERMS?!?! The Germs haven’t played in almost 30 years…

    and Dog Fashion Disco owns.

the warped tour isn’t indie rock scenster enough for the typical buzzgrinder crowd, you should know that seth.

hmmm… there are maybe 4 bands playing that i would actually like to see. which could be enough, although i’d be willing to bet that they’d all be playing at the same time…

    i may go.

The tour starts tomorrow in Maryland. Woowoo.

Is it a bad thing if I spitefully hate every band on that list? Is that ok with everyone? Cause I really just want to burn this post to the ground. No disrespect to Seth here, but I did just lose a couple minutes of my life to this list… and… oh God. Just, don’t tell me who’s playing a Ozzfest, allright?

  10. On 07/26/06 12:59 PM, Jay said:

Just say you hate popular fest tours and we’ll send you a get-well card or something.

  11. On 07/26/06 4:21 PM, bob said:

Jay, shut-up. I really do want to know. At what point did it become OK do all-out deny the existence of pop music. Out of that list the one band I know is AFI. I hate the rest of them based mostly on association. The fact remains though, that I don’t know who the fuck these people are! Should I? Is this good that I don’t, and I would rather sit on my ass listining to B.S.S. then go to that show. My ideals of good music have taken over any consideration of mainstream music. From what I know of this site… none of you should care about this tour. Now I’ll ask again… let me spell it out for you… Are any of those bands any good?

  12. On 07/26/06 6:00 PM, Jay said:

Well, I\’m confused even more now, since there\’s big and small bands listed there. I don\’t understand what the big deal is. If you only know AFI and have no idea what Joan Jett, NOFX, and Every Time I Die sound like, even when the LINKS TO THEIR WEBSITES ARE RIGHT THERE, then anything short of psychiatric assistance won\’t be any help.

  13. On 07/26/06 7:08 PM, bob said:

I have not audio on this computer. Nor, do I want any. I actually go out an find and buy the CD’s that I wan’t to listen to. Novel concept, eh? I have heard NOFX, missed them on my first run down that list. I was actually a big Thursday fan for a while… Until I grew up.
Now… Can anybody see that I’m actually looking for a valid opinion or two. Not some guy with an uncontrollable “/” reflex and a really nice website (by the way) who seems to be getting rather defensive about my telling him to shut-up after an unprovoked attack. There is easily 50 bands up there that I have never heard of.

    SHOULD I FUCKING CARE?!

    Shut-up Jay.

    SHOULD I FUCKING CARE?!

    Shut-up Jay.

Why are you looking for an answer to a rhetorical question?

Here’s my opinion: no, you shouldn’t care, because you haven’t heard of them. They must be terrible.

    Is that ok?

The /’s came from the edit.

PS- thanks for the compliment on the site. =)

I’m really just asking if there are any good bands on this tour. You gave me the oppurtunity to pick a fight, so I thought I would. Speaking of fighting… DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT “RHETORICAL” MEANS, YOU FUCK!

    LOOK IT UP!!!

Seriously though, that site is pretty sweet. My brother is in the same buisness and he has made some pretty nice stuff… But yours is so smooth. It’s like surfing silk, wouldn’t even hurt to fall.
