Ian MacKaye, Susie J. Horgan and Henry Rollins put together “Punk Love—a book of Horgan’s shots from the Wilson Center days, making for a raw and vivid document of the D.C. punk scene in the 1980s.”
“Rollins was a slim kid working 60-hour weeks at Häagen-Dazs slinging pralines and cream and rainbow sherbet to Georgetown kids. He hired Ian MacKaye, the future cofounder of Dischord Records, and Susie J. Horgan, a transient would-be photographer, to work with him as soda jerks.”

This is a great example, appealing or not, of incorporating the release info into the artwork, instead of taking Helvetica bold or Old English typography onto a Photoshop file. They must have an affinity for silhouettes of wooden swords, too!

U2’s Bono was recently knighted at a ceremony in Dublin. Though it’s official, he cannot use the term “Sir” due to not being a British citizen. British Prime Minister Tony Blair attended the ceremony and read from a letter he wrote praising the rocker/activist which said:
“I’ll leave it to others far more knowledgeable than me to talk about U2’s music - all I’ll say is that, along with millions of others right across the world, I’m a huge fan.”

“Is he a diva? Well, I don’t think he’s anything less than a star, I’m not gonna lie,” Allman says testily. “But he doesn’t need to ride my band for press, so I don’t know that it matters what I think.”
