Forty Ozzy Fans Arrested

Ozzy Osbourne fans invited to a fake pre-party for his show with Rob Zombie in Fargo, N.D., were arrested on the spot:

invitations were sent out to people who ignored court summons, didn’t pay child support, failed to pay fines, etc. Approximately forty Ozzy fans (or Rob Zombie fans, to be fair) responded to the invite and attended the bash, which was held at the concert venue by PDL Productions. Little did they know, PDL stood for “Paul D. Laney,” a county sheriff, and that all those meaty guys wearing PDL T-shirts were actually deputy sheriffs, probation officers and local DEA members. Rather than boozing, the miscreants who showed up got arrested on outstanding warrants. “It was more of a warrant party,” Laney joked.

Madonna Dated Tupac

The new book Madonna: Like An Icon claims that the pop singer had a brief fling with Tupac Shakur:

The singer’s friend Alison Clarkson recalls when she was briefly dating Tupac Shakur, one year before his death.

“She was going out with him … but homegirls were saying to him, ‘I can’t believe you’re going out with a white girl,’” - so she got dumped!

The Silent Ballet Curates Post-Rock Compilation

The Silent Ballet, home of all things instrumental, has put out its sixth free, downloadable post-rock compilation. It includes such acts as The Evpatoria Report, Building Castles Out Of Matchsticks and My Education:

Volume VI steps back from the post-rock aesthetic and prepares for the impending winter with a diverse collection of tracks that span many genres. We hope a common relaxed theme pervades throughout, one which intrigues the listener but also is capable of accompanying it the multitude of experiences that comprise life’s trials and tribulations.

Biffy Clyro Destroys CMJ Stage

Biffy Clyro destroyed their stage at CMJ after only playing two songs because they were told that headliner Datarock was due up next. Lead singer Simon Neil gives his side of the story:

All the other bands played for about half an hour and we got pulled off after about one song basically. So we kept playing and there were people coming onstage trying to unplug our gear, so I had a bit of a meltdown and I grabbed everything I could get my hands on - I took all the microphones and threw them as hard as I could against the back wall.

Avenged Sevenfold Makes ‘Flawless Album’

Guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold, Synyster Gates, talks about their new album:

“I think we raised the bar, and we had the mindset that we wanted to do it, but we had no clue what we were gonna do,” he said. “And we’ve always claimed that we were this fearless band, with the utmost fearless approach to writing music, but in a way, this was like the self-realization that we sort of hadn’t. And this album, all boundaries were just torn down and we just went absolutely crazy, and we really made a pretty eclectic and, as far as we’re concerned, not to sound too cocky, but a flawless album.

Daphne Loves Derby Hopes They Don’t Suck

From Daphne Loves Derby bassist David Sparks’ tour blog.

It’s really quite exciting to play a little better each day. I just hope that this isn’t just my naïve opinion from onstage and that everybody in the crowd is looking at us thinking, “Wow, they suck.” That would be a bummer.
