Amy Lee on Evanescence Problems

Amy Lee recently commented on her frustration with ex-members John LeCompt and Rocky Gray on the Evanescence message board.

“both made it clear they were ready to move on.” LeCompt and Gray “were very vocal about the fact that they didn’t really care about Evanescence at all and just stayed around for the money. They were miserable. They are no longer playing with us because I love this band too much to see it driven into the ground.”

At the final show NP & Mindrage did at Vino’s in Arkansas (promo show for the split in ‘01), John seemed like he was taking a job rather than joining a band. I’m sure things changed a lot once Ben left, and I’m sure Wind-Up is pressuring them. Obviously there were two sides to the firing of John Lecompt and Rocky’s departure. Amy has her story, and Rocky and John have their stories. To me though, it would probably be a good idea to just ignore it, which I will try to, after I put in my own two cents.

I’m in no way taking sides, but in a business, a band, whatever, if someone is bringing it down, then they have to leave. Whatever reason Amy had, I respect it. I’m not angry at the fact that she fired two great members, but I’m not happy for it either.
There are a lot of possibilites on why this happened.

And about Amy Lee not being talented. Yeah, uhm..I will admit that the Zero cover was horrible, and the Anywhere But Home DVD was pretty bad, but I saw her in concert last October, and she has really improved a singer. Of course, is it my place to say who people should listen to, what they should like, and what they should say? F*** no, it’s not. But, I’ll always love and respct Amy Lee no matter what. I don’t care what she does (even though I will comment on it).

And if people like Evanescence, I don’t think it means that they have bad taste. Just because someone likes a band that another person can’t stand, it doesn’t mean they have bad taste. To me, it’s a matter of opinion.

She’s a contradictory bitch who kicked her guitarist out of a band for no other reason than things had to go her way. Sure she put a lot into Evanescence, but so did Ben Moody, and he left the band because when it came down to a choice between the talent of the band and the sex-sells image (the hot frontwoman, the cashcow), who do you think the record company wanted?

And while we’re on that subject, get the fuck over it people, she’s chubby. Not fat, not overweight, NOT skinny, but chubby. She didn’t get that way from pursuing her art, she got that way from all the fast food and lack of exercise. (Don’t give me that shit about her liking healthy food, I’ve seen their DVD) And, yes, the reason we place so much emphasis on that is that one of the drawbacks of being a celebrity is having your every flaw scrutinized. But that’s okay, she’s an attention whore anyway. if she were any average jane walking down the street, i wouldn’t look twice at her. Clearly, she’s comfortable with her body, I mean, she’s married, the only person who’s opinion of her body matters already loves her. But anyway, yeah, she’s chubby, really out of shape, looks like she couldn’t define the word treadmill if she was called to, and hasn’t gone a week without Taco Bell or McDonald’s. (although to be fair, I could blame that on touring, your choices are rather limited, but then again, she’s rich, if she wanted a fucking salad bar on her bus, she could have it)

And as far as her look goes, yeah she’s pretty. in a girl next door kind of way. I would never call her beautiful or hot, she’s just very average pretty. i mean, she dyes her hair and wears color contacts. And while we’re on the image thing, the goth look doesn’t work for her. She doesn’t even dress that way on her own time. She looks best in her casual mode. Jeans and a t-shirt, natural makeup.

As for her voice… I could take it or leave it. I’ve heard better, she sounds like ass in a concert, but unplugged she’s pretty good still nasally, but all in all good.

And that is what I have to say about Amy Lee, the most Overrated woman in music
