Clear Channel Accused Of Mistreating Indie Artists

The Future of Music Coalition, an artist rights group, is accusing Clear Channel Communications of forcing indie artists to give up digital performance royalties in exchange for playtime. The radio giant, however, tells another story:

“The artists are in complete control of their musical work. They control whether they just want it considered for broadcast over the air, whether they want it considered for streaming online, whether they want it to be available for download or all three, and (most importantly) they have the right to terminate their license at any time upon notice to us.”

Hmmm… not completely denying it… hmmmm.

basically this boils down to “the artists can do whatever they want to do, and if they choose a bad mistake, it’s their decision to have done that”

    Yeah, Clear Channel
