Pearl Jam Censored By AT&T?

Did AT&T censor Pearl Jams webcast from Lollapalooza?

“… Pearl Jam segued into a portion of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall,” during which frontman Eddie Vedder sang, “George Bush, leave this world alone” and “George Bush, find yourself another home.” Those lyrics were missing from the broadcast.”

AT&T is saying, “naw, we’re cool. It was a mistake!”, while internet watchdog groups are crying censorship.

Someone who equates a president with Satan, or frames an administration as the absolute worst ever is definitely not well informed. That’s just agitprop bullsh*t. It comes from centrists and conservatives plenty (like when Clinton was in office), but the left pees it out like water.

Because from a president like this one, that uses the word of Jesus Christ to take our children to a war that has created more violence and hatred toward us….. well my friend I see the work of the devil there, and I’m not talking about Iron Maiden or Judas Priest…. ;)

ps: I’m a conservative and I support my country, first and for most, and as a true American

    tax cuts
    improving economy after 9/11

I’ve never heard him use religious grounds for Iraq/War on terror.

Tax cuts are good only if you pair it with a decrease in spending.

    Tax hikes are ALWAYS bad.

We need to cut government spending in half, cut taxes, do away with all socialized welfare and rely on privatized charities and privatized social security, THEN start paying off the national debt.

Of course this sort of Libertarian thinking will never win an election because it forces everyone to sacrifice and requires personal responsibility from both the Government and the citizens.

If a band started preaching THAT message, then I’d be all about politics and music. Unfortunately it’s mostly just socialist propoganda being spewed from the stages mostly. “Social justice means free government handouts!”

let me tell you how old are you?
because if you are under 40, you can still enlist, and go fight for your country, instead of sitting in front of a computer, saying the most stupid things, one after another, TAx cuts!!!!?
This country has gone to the crapper, because of a war that was jumped into with out a proper study or political diplomacy, and I’m not talking about afganistan, were the major terrorist are still at large, Iraq was a war for OIL and power, nothing else, killing thousand of people with out remorse, and yes Bush uses the word of god all the time, even when he says “god bless america”

Let me tell you moronic child, Jesus has never said go kill your enemies, he gave the other chick, instead of building bombs we should off go tehre ( Iraq) and build houses for the people, give them things ( education, better health care, etc etc)

You are just talking form your couch, supporting people like Pat Robertson, pointing the finger on people that has nothing to do with terrorism and wish to Killed them…..

Have you been ever to the middle east? or to Iraq, or Afghanistan?
And for all that do you know who created teh taliban? USA….

Um, the US did NOT create the Taliban. Supporting a movement against an invading Soviet army and CREATING something are completely different.

If it’s a war for oil, where’s all the oil? Get a real argument against the war in Iraq.

Why not focus on how poorly the war has been managed or how poorly our post Sadaam strategy has been instead. These are REAL problems. There are plenty of things to critique w/ the war in Iraq, you don’t really need to keep throwing out straw man arguements.

Meanwhile, vote to raise your taxes, socialize health care, and have a nation wide ban on trans fat, smoking, and state and local government.

Vote Democrate. Because our government isn’t big enough!

Privatized social security is the worst idea ever..oh, unless you’re upper middle class or higher.
People also can’t afford health care when they have a full time job making minimum wage and can barely feed their families or pay rent.
Sure, we need a little more personal responsibility and individual sacrifice, but regardless, some people are always gonna get a shitty deal, and saying “life’s not fair” is a selfish way to look at it.
The majority of Bush’s tax cuts have only been a big deal to people with lots of money to spare, and government spending has been on the increase. Social programs have been cut to make room for more military spending.
The national government does not really affect the lives of American people anymore. This is fine for people that are living a comfortable or luxurious life, but sucks for people that need help.

Oh, and I WISH there was a nationwide ban on smoking.

  70. On 08/15/07 5:09 PM, andy said:

Socialism I mean, it’s beyond being an insult. It’s truely what it is.

Nationwide ban on smoking? Man! The government should NOT tell you or me or anyone else what we can and can’t put into our bodies. Come on. This boils my bubble more than anything. Why do people cry to the government every time something happens that you don’t like? “I don’t like smoking. Let’s get the government to ban it!” (hey wouldn’t it just be cheaper and like, less asinine to just not go to places that allow smoking? That’s crazy talk! Let’s dump more money into passing more laws! And while we’re at it, we’ll be cutting off a large source of income because the cigarrette tax won’t be needed anymore. Good idea! Then we can raise your taxes MORE to make up for the difference! Maybe we’ll just raise the gas tax some more…)

The Bush tax cuts-although I DON’T agree that they were only targeted to the “rich”,(I made like, $17,000.00 a year and still saw some money come back to me)I think it was a bad move. Again, because government spending went through the roof. So instead of adjusting spending to the flow of money coming in (budget 101), he increased spending and decreased money coming into the government. I get the idea of supply side economics. I also believe that Republicans are supposed to be Fiscal Conservatives…

Privatized social security is a great idea. What…you mean people should like, plan for retirement themselves instead of depending on Government handouts? “I’m old! Gimme gimme gimme!”(I love the Simpsons!).

Like I said, I made like, $17,000.00 a year working FULL TIME, lived on my own and still I paid for my healthcare out of my own pocket.

I’m not saying the current system is working. What I am saying is, increasing taxes and giving the Goverment MORE control is not the way to fix it. I already pay 40% of my income to the government. If they show me that they can effectively spend that money and manage the programs they currently control, only then would I consider handing over the health care system to them.

We both know that ain’t ever gonna happen though. Why do people think the government can do something better than they can do it themselves?

The government should ban stupidity, that way everyone can survive longer than they should, leaving plenty of time for all the idiots to breed.
Soon this herd will multiply and wash over the earth with the blood of all the Eloi, a naked plague, equipped with helmets, life jackets, seat-belts, a smoke free environment, polite drivers and world-wide hygiene.
Then, and only then, will there be peace.
Because everyone knows what is right and wrong - they’re just too humble to brag about it - and once all order is banished from the kingdom of the Morlocks, the Lord of the Flies will reign, and no one - even the most liberal or conservative - will ever have to think for themselves again.
And they all lived happily ever after.
