Blabbermouth is reporting some turmoil in the Evanescence camp:
“Gerry Gittelson of DailyNews.com reports that EVANESCENCE guitarist John LeCompt said Friday (May 4) he’s been fired from the band, and he also said drummer Rocky Gray has quit.”

Acctually it was a free show, sort of. This radio station in town did this thing a few times, you had to show up in some parking lot somewhere with the radio stations sticker on your car and you got a pair of tickets. I saw Chevelle that way too.
Such a terrible live show. They were even playing to tracks and still sucked.

It always sort of boggled my mind that Rocky Gray would be involved in such a project.
It was a no brainer, Im sure. They’re all christian, amy has a ripe ass all secretly want to pound, and Amy Lee offered them extremely good pay. Once everybody started getting comfortable, and maybe voicing “opinions”, everybody is quickly reminded that Amy is a solo artist. Its worth mentioning, she’s a solo artist thats apparently affraid to leave the confines of the “Evanescence” brand for fear of failing.
I’m telling you guys, Soul Embraced never broke up. It was maybe put on a hiatus, but I think the band was always planning on producing some new material eventually (which they now are).

“Amy Lee’s management emailed me last night to tell me that, in their view, the contract I signed to record, perform and tour with the group says that I’m not allowed to have any free speech in regard to Evanescence,” Gray said from his home in Arkansas. “The way they spin it, I’m not even allowed to say I quit the group, I guess. But the news is out there, so, there ya’ go. I need to have a lawyer read over all that mess to tell me what, when and how I can tell you all — the REAL FANS — what really went down, if I ever can, haha.”

I had a copy of some recordings of evanescence before that first major release. Most of it was solo/piano-ish stuff. A few songs were heavy, one even had some vocals from Bruce. Anybody anybody else ever here this stuff?

Rocky had said after the last full length Sould Embraced release he felt the group had “three more albums left in them” Hopefully that will prove true and the LS reunion sounds like a great idea if they can get Bruce back (and/or DJ?)
If Living Sacrifice would make a new album, I’m confident it would be their best release yet. The two tracks they wrote for In Memoriam are amazing.

According to the wikipedia entry, he does a lot of other stuff (clothing, etc). The sites seem to be decent with some unnecessary Flash interaction. A lot of it looks kinda cheesy with a lot of classy shots of slutty broads with big ta-tas. Way to go, Rock.

Amy Lee is not a conflicted artist who needs to protect her great submission to the world - she’s a girl who looks like a girl in a biz where most girls look like dudes, and she’s got a manager who reminds her of it daily. she can sing in tune at least 90% of the time and that’s good enough. she’s an egomaniac who wears duct tape skirts and has an entire army of Hot Topic fashionistas confirming the relevance of such silliness. she probably won’t be going away anytime soon.
i also have an old cd of theirs before they were huge - it was given to me by the band and they were really nice. then everyone got fired.
I’ll tell you, IF LS did reform for another album, it would be one of the biggest releases in recent memory. It would be one of the most anticipated albums to come out for a long long while. Everybody used to listen to LS, its crazy; and 90% of those people, whether the only listen to Immolation or MCR now, would scoop a new LS album up without thinking twice.

I dont know Karisa but shes absolutely right on target with that one; the three new songs on “In Memoriam” esp. “Killers” proves that. The old stuff was great, too. I dont think they could produce a bad album if they wanted to.
I was really digging Rock and John in the band. And now they are fired. I was liking Ben Moody when they hit it big, and he left. But as long they are all doing well, they dont really need this band. I wish them luck.
