I think when you get to the 25th Scene Points you should treat us with a blooper reel.

Come on, we need DVD-like bonus features Seth!

    yeahhhh… please don’t.

However, I was floored to realize that people who were born six years after I was are now 17. WTF. I still picture them as little 10 and 11 year olds.

i used to like stavesacre and neon horse till i heard they smoke and renounced their faith. my local christian bookstore had the cds so i figured they were gospel groups…boy was i wrong. do not be decieved…neon horse is not a christian band! neither is lamb of god.
    do not be decieved.

How are bands like Bleeding Through allowed to distribute “music”?

I found the douchebag on the right the only redeeming thing about that video.

DVD features: not sure, yet. Sounds like a lot of work.

Jacob: welcome to the club. Well, I haven’t been part of the 20-something club for almost two years, but still..

The 1/3: Comment of the year.

    Brian: point taken.

Vu: Yea, seems I’m not the only one that noticed that dude.

actually Seth, kids born in 1990 were probably NOT in grade school while Yo! MTV Raps was running, except for the possibility that they entered kindergarten in 1995

See Tim? This is why I need more Scene Points writers! You think John Stewart is that funny on his own? Help me! haha

Comment of the year? It was a serious question!

I find it funny how white Christians will find cigar smoking in the video offensive — amazing in the fact that I did not even notice the cigar upon first viewing (and really who cares, anyway) — meanwhile, black people probably should be offended by Solomon’s Blackface routine. I really never thought I would see a Tooth & Nail band do that. Ted Danson, sure. But not the Stavesacre guy.

I’m not offended by his costume, but I am offended by the poor music.

Matthew, that’s not blackface. Marilyn Manson had that racoon look five years ago.

bad numetal…bleeding through writing ballads. not good. keep ripping at the gates…you all did that better.

    1/3 – it’s sheridan08…same josh here :)

seth – i like youth pastor humour.

jay – my comment was purely in jest :) there was a post on decapolis a while back that said “lamb of god: do not be decieved…lamb of god is NOT a christian band”. it made me laugh because the person was serious.

Actually matulich, some people think that Jason Martin might even be part of the project.

I personally really like Neon Horse, but that’s irrelevant.

  27. On 05/8/07 7:30 PM, Howard said:

Matthew: i am offended that you are offended by blackface – because i’m going to go out on a limb and assume you’re white as lamb’s wool.

you should worry more about why you don’t have anything better to do than listen to tooth and nail bands and make poor attempts at being funny. (sorry, haven’t been following the latest latest on ted danson, but i’m jumping down, turning around, and picking a bail o’ cotton that someone is.)

i like neon horse, and have nothing sardonic to add to that statement.

  28. On 05/9/07 1:03 AM, Matthew said:

I didn’t say that I am offended, the caucasion that I am, or that anyone should be — although I can see why someone would — or that Neon Horse is bad (I am actually quite intrigued by it all). I just think it is rather humorous that Solomon all of a sudden shows up in a vaudeville cache that, oh yeah, is also an extremely racist sentiment in an, oh yeah, predominantly “Christian” market place that, as the Scene Points video stated, will put out anything that T&N puts out. I wouldn’t call it irony or anything, but it is pretty funny when you think about it.

Oh, and this isn’t to say that I think Neon Horse is racist or anything, either. Or maybe I am? Show yourselves, and refute that Neon Horsies!

  29. On 05/9/07 12:52 PM, The 1/3 said:

I find it odd how few people spell Salomon correctly. Anyway

Matthew, I see what you’re saying, but I think that you’re wrong in seeing blackface in that video. What we clearly have is presumably Mark Salomon dressed in alternately all white and all black. He’s not putting on an old-time minstrel show, he’s just wearing a costume for the video. I don’t look for racism where it doesn’t exist, and there’s nothing in that video whether inserted consciously or unconsciously that suggests any racist undertones.

What about the werewolves? And mushroom clouds? ShEESH!

  31. On 05/9/07 3:40 PM, The 1/3 said:

Oh, the werewolves are definitely racists.

  32. On 05/9/07 7:39 PM, Howard said:

i HATE a racist werewolf, all day long.

i get you matthew, i guess i’m just a bit over the “hey, hey! excuse me! yeah, did you know you were just offended? oh, you missed that? well, believe me – you were!” type of mentality that seems to have manifested itself in the social side of a lot of americans. if you’re cool, you’re cool – i guess i’m hypersensitive to anyone who is hypersensitive. :)

i agree with the 1/3 – i don’t think i heard “mammy” once in the song. plus, salomon doesn’t have the white lips of the amos n’ andy type minstrel bits.

  33. On 05/10/07 10:14 AM, seth2 said:

I think it should be noted that the cigar is not acctually being smoked, the smoke comes from behind Mr. Solomon, not from his mouth. Its pretty tough to smoke a cigar if its not on fire!!

ive been into the hardcore metal scene all my life and i am trying to find as many hardcore metal christian bands i can find and i just bought bleeding through’s new cd and 2 of the members thank god before anything or anyone else and if you listen to the words of their songs they sing about cleansing the wicked and hypycritical of the world. i really like august burns red and i know they are a christian band but bleeding through is still kind of a mystery to me because they do write some dark kind of stuff but in the vein of fighting fire with fire. so i was wondering if anyone knows if they are a christian band that sometimes strays a little off path or if they are just a death metal hardcore metal cliche?
