::Tomorrow Motorhead takes to the streets and heads out on tour. After a few nights the tour picks up The Misfits for a fun road trip that starts in California and ends in New Jersey.
::Sonic Youth has been working on some new songs. Two of which debuted in Brooklyn.
::Speaking of “classic” bands, Wire will be heading out on tour starting in early October in Montreal and ending a few weeks later in Chicago.
::The saxophonist who tours with The Arcade Fire, Colin Stetson, is joining up with other super-hipster-stars on a new EP. Look for it Sept. 16.
::Underoath, oops sorry…underOATH has their new album, Lost in the Sound of Separation, available for streaming on their MySpace.
Doesn’t the Underoath logo have the null set symbol in place of the O, too? It’s on the new album design, not sure if they’ve always used it.
This is very important to establish.
False!
Sonic Youth debuted those two songs the night before at the TLA in Philly. I was present, and will not have this scene cred stripped away.
I haven’t listened to Underoath since that post-Dallas album, which I shunned because of disappointment over the new lineup. Plus, it seemed annoying. I’m checking out the new songs, and I actually kinda dig it. Some of the lyrics are wack as fuck, but that’s to be expected I guess. Kudos on the guitar/drums. Better than a lot of other bands doing this exact same thing
sam, that entry could be construed that it was the first time in Brooklyn, not ever…though it’s probably meant the other way.
Besides that, the whole statement is fundamentally flawed. Sonic Youth do not write songs at all.
Yea, they could’ve even been two different songs for all i know. I just wanted to publically proclaim my coolnes in a confrontational manner. Nothing beats drama spawned from hip-security issues.
