Chris Francz Art Gallery Opening
You might remember Chris Francz from his days of publishing Crucial Times zine. You might not know that he’s quite the artist (bonus points if you did know that). Chris recently had an art opening at my favorite indie record store in my home town of Stroudsburg, PA, The Main St. Jukebox. Says Chris,
“The Main St. Jukebox really does an amazing job in supporting the arts. It was an honor to be asked to do this show. My paintings will be on display for the month of March but there are always new pieces of artwork going up on display, making this the place to drop in on frequently. I was asked to come to the store on First Saturdays to chronicle their live bands on paper or canvas as the show unfolds. The first time will be this coming Saturday. I might get so stressed out that I never want to do it again. The goal is to complete a semi-large painting depicting the show before the show is over and the store closes. A few pints will be in order once I finish that gig!”

That’s awesome! I used to read Crucial Times growing up. In fact I still have the last few issues. It was always so packed with information and just incredible stuff. I’m still inspired by that zine today.

Hahaha didn’t he also do Seth W’s cover art for “It’s Soda Pressing”? Hehe… liner notes– I have not forgotten.
