Death Cab For Cutie played Letterman last night to celebrate the release of Narrow Stairs. Good performance, great album.
I think it’s boring and generic. I do, however, like ‘You Can Do Better Than Me’ and ‘Bixby Canyon Bridge,’ although it makes the album start off nearly identically to Plans. Anyway, besides the boredom, Ben’s lyrics have become to cynical for me.

as for narrow stairs, it didn’t hit me on the first listen like their previous work. but it is growing on me, i’ll say that.
This seems to be the case with most “indie” bands…
