DragonForce Bassist Loves ROMs, Had Diarrhea

Frédéric Leclercq, of DragonForce, sure knows how to give a good interview. First, he touches on his geeky (and illegal) side:

“I have all my emulators…my ROMs, yeah. Illegally downloaded! (laughs) No, I have them at home. What was the name of that one? Eh, Turbografx? Yeah, Turbografx-16. All the old ones, Nintendo and Genesis.”

I wonder what Mr. Leclercq’s reaction would be to someone’s collection of illegally downloaded DragonForce albums? I’m sure he wouldn’t be quite so giddy. Of course, I could be wrong, too. Maybe he’s into that “screw the record label, download our albums” kind of thing.

Well, secondly, when asked if he had any final words to wrap up the interview, he laid this gem:

“Sorry, not very funny today. I feel like I have to puke. My final words? I have diarrhea.”

I wouldn’t call emulators and roms stealing. Generally speaking the only good ones are for old outdated system such as turbo graphic, NES, Genesis, and such. To buy those your buying used. No rights holders make a damn dime. Emulators are just opening up people to enjoy the older systems for a first time or again.
