Imagine having co-fronted the one actual band of Ben Gibbard’s that didn’t blow up huge? OK, then. Now you know how Justin Kennedy (formerly of Pinwheel) feels. But it’s alright, because Kennedy has Army Navy to spread his brand of powerpop. In addition to being on the Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist soundtrack, the band has an album coming out Oct. 14.
And considering Death Cab’s decline in quality (Narrow Stairs, ew), it seems like Kennedy might be having the last laugh after all. Or the next to last laugh… if new Postal Service material ever gets done, that is.
