Comeback Kid will be touring Canada in October with Misery Signals, Bane, Shai Hulud, Outbreak, and Grave Maker. I spoke with guitarist Jeremy Hiebert about the tour, the bands and his favorite album of ’08.
What’s the band’s relationship with the other bands on the tour?
We have either toured with, or done some dates with all but one of the bands on this bill and have known pretty much all of the bands for some time now. Its just going to be great having a lot of friends on the road with us.
Shai Hulud and Bane are pretty iconic names — have you toured with them before?
Yes, we have. One of the first tours we ever did was with Bane back in 2003, and we just finished up doing a run with Shai Hulud in Europe, where we became really good friends with the band.
Any tour plans this winter for the US?
We have two more tours left for us in ’08, and they will be in Canada and South America. We hope to put something together for ’09 sometime for the US.
What’s been the one album you’ve fallen in love with this year?
Brothers In Arms by Devil In Me. We played with them in their hometown of Lisbon, Portugal in late ’07 and it blew me away. They gave me a CD and I didn’t check it out til early ’08 well after we got home, but when I heard it I was hooked.
