Is Little Pictures a Buzz Band?

little_pictures.jpgLittle Pictures, a cute little band from New Zealand, asks “Are we a buzz band? I’m so confused, what does buzz mean?”

If you have to ask, well… you might be. Let’s try to figure it out.

Blogspot blog? Check.
Facebook band page? Check.
YouTube band page? Check.
Individual members Facebook pages? Check and check.
Cute photos? Duh.
1000+ MySpace friends? Check.
A spot in the top 25 on Elbo.ws? Check.
From an obscure place? Check.
White? Just kidding.

So yes, I think they’re a Buzz Band, if by “Buzz Band” you mean they’ll be everywhere in the coming month or two, release an album that sells poorly, then go back to obscurity and making cute music (for instance, Man Man isn’t even in the Top 50 on Elbo.ws, and didn’t sell all that great after being a “buzz band”). Time will tell.

    Ehem, another item is needed for full buzz. A recommendation from a recognized band. Once that is achieved then the “next big thing” blog post begin, and then lots running downhill. Ah just like life, a music carear can be disappointing.

    You have this slight condescending tone about you, which I just find fucking cringe-worthy. Little Pictures seem like they’re a really sincere and sweet couple, and you’ve somehow managed to make it feel a bit cheap and shallow.

    It’s funny how your whole blog is nothing but an instrument for creating buzz, and yet you somehow seem almost to resent this band for creating a buzz, immediately putting the breaks on it… will fade into obscurity, sell no albums… like you posting about them is somehow their career highlight, and it’ll all be downhill from here…
