It’s Never Too Late To Get On Board: This Is Ivy League

I may have missed the boat on This Is Ivy League, but now I’m swimming to catch up with that dinghy. It’s never too late to get on board.
I’d previously seen the video for London Bridges. It didn’t wow me, so that was as far as my Ivy League education went (get it!!!). That is, until this morning, when I was treated to two delicious tunes from the Brooklyn duo (who pay the bills in Cobra Starship) via email.
The Richest Kids is irresistibly charming, not to mention catchy. Just enough head-bobbingness to keep me lucid early in the morning, and thoughtful enough to put that lucidity to good use. And Crown of Love, a stripped down Arcade Fire cover, gives me visions of — dare I say it — Simon and Garfunkel.
It’s hard to believe that these 60s-tinged, elitist-attracting songs come from contributing members of that Warped Tour staple. I’m not complaining, it’s just weird. In fact, that tidbit almost makes me like them more, whereas it might make some people like them less.

Just for reference, these guys don’t suck at singing, like CS frontman Gabe Saporta occasionally does.
