Jesus Lizard Getting Back Together, Thank The Lord

What a way to start out Thanksgiving! Today was supposed to be an “off day” reserved for eating too much and watching the Cowboys blast the Seahawks. But then I got a somewhat unbelievable email. I’ll let this snippet from Touch and Go’s press release do the talking:
In what has to rank as one of the most unlikely developments in rock, the awe-inspiring primal force of the Jesus Lizard will return, briefly, in 2009. The original lineup of David Yow, Duane Denison, David Wm. Sims and Mac McNeilly will reform for a very limited series of live dates in 2009, starting with the All Tomorrow’s Parties event dubbed The Fans Strike Back in Minehead, UK on May 9 and 10 and ending with a final appearance in Chicago in late November.
Of course the label is going to capitalize on this by reissuing Head, Goat, Liar and Down on CD and vinyl. I’d be much more thankful if I didn’t have to wait until May to get those records.

when i first found out i got my tickets straight away, they were one of those bands that sounded better live than recorded, youtube really doesnt do them justice. Funny how the best guitarist singer bass player and drummer couldnt get liked it is an aggressive sound to enjoy them you really have to let that cat torturing side of your personality out. whenever I saw them was always blind drunk is there a better way to communicate with david? Am currently suffering an almost debilitating male menopause so if you look for me at pitchfork ill be the one with tears rolling down my face.

Never heard of them but something tells me that it’s a bad thing that they’re getting back together.
