A Metafilter poster did some simple internets searching and contacted the singer (Sal) for former Christian ska band Sonseed, the very artistic force you see and hear above, blowing through your ears:
He got an email from a blogger in California who had showed the videotape to friends over the years and Doug heard about it.
Sal has a video of their last concert, their drummer passed away 15 years ago.
Father Joseph Ciccone, a band member, (now a priest) then worked for an advertising agency, he designed the logo and the album cover.
And that’s it. He was a total gentleman. And real.
And somewhere, all of the former members of The O.C. Supertones simultaneously got the vapors.

ha..that is king hammond. the song is almost identical! wow, I just revealed I’m an immense nerd.
I’m just happy the bassist has a Steinberger.
Lol one of my friends just found this treasure about a week ago and was showing everyone…pretty hilarious stuff!
Yeah, someone I go to church with has this on their Facebook profile. It’s hilarious!
There has never been a musical style more perfectly suited for youth group America than “Ska.”
Btw: Love your vest.
I enjoyed that. Ska being my favorite genre and all.
Man oh day! I got out my Dance Craze LP after seeing that last night.
This video is great. I watched it twice this morning.
I love this. Pure gold.
Don’t know if this is David Crowder or not in the back ground but apparently they or someone did a cover of this song at a youth christian fest. Made me laugh.

the shoeless guitar guy is cool.
who knew Charles In Charge was a believer.
I honestly kinda miss Christian ska. Not enough to revive it though. I’m cool with listening to metal.
I’d be happy with a FIF reformation…never cared for any other ska band.
agree w/ jay…
@ Andy. Is there anything worth listening to out there in the ska scene these days?
I really liked old school Supertones. The first two albums were good. I also liked Insyderz take on worship songs, but didn’t really like any of their original stuff.
Yeah, Supertones weren’t bad. I really actually liked their last album, the Revenge one. Had some good songs on it.
Morginsky’s lyrics didn’t do it for me, though. Whatevs.
*skanks*
@Pj
Is there still a ska scene anymore? I stopped paying attention once Moonska went under. I rarely get in the mood for that kind of stuff anymore but when I do, I usually just listen to the classics.
It was truly a sad day when MoonSka went out of business. I know Asianman is still around, but Mike’s moved on to a different sound. Whenever I get in the mood for some brass I usually go to either Less Than Jake or the Bosstones (who reunited, FTW).
By the way, Andy. Always remember that Skanking is of the Devil.
The Moonska thing was totally surprising. Here was a company that existed long before the ska boom of the late 90s…yet that “Skaboom” (ironic…that was the name of the first Toasters album ha!) is what killed off Moonska.
“I INVENTED THE PIANO-KEY TIE! I INVENTED IT! WHAT HAVE YOU EVER DONE, DEREK?? NOTHING!”
One of my only regrets in this life is that I never got to the MoonSka Store before it closed. I heard someone was trying to revive the brand name a while back though.
“Simmer down…ya hear what I say…”
That’s all I got.
I got to the Moonska store once. It was very small, the dude from the Toasters was working the counter, and I was the only one in there other than this big black Jamaican guy. It was one of the coolest experiences of my young life ha!
Where has this been my whole life???
I think that’s my mom singing backup…
In case none of you guys noticed, last years unanimous Coach of the Year (Mark Mangino) of the Kansas Jayhawks is singing backup. He’s the singer furthest right.
Fun, huh?
I’m fondling memories of Supertones concerts all the sudden.
Jesus touched a heavy metal musician too
Yeah, he did, sure. Don’t ask me who.
