Look Mexico Played CMJ, Did a Photo Shoot
Last week, I had the pleasure of seeing Look Mexico perform during the whole CMJ hoo-hah. While bands and industry folk were running around getting free shoes and haircuts — yes, for real — I forced the guys to pose for this photo shoot (done by James Allen Walker). That’s how we roll.
The guys played a ridiculously tight set. Regular readers know I’m more of a “loud music” fan, but Look Mexico plays good music really well. They mix it up with some guitar-tapping, nice harmonies and the drumming is solid, too (Joshua is hot, as well). Their musicianship is beyond reproach, and I swear they didn’t bribe me with pizza to say that — this time.
It was good to catch up with the band (I saw them back in March), a solid group of guys who make some great tunes. Catch them on tour sometime, and pick up Gasp Asp, their latest EP on iTunes.
