Look Mexico @ Union Pool, Brooklyn NY

Meeting up with bands that are readers of Buzzgrinder is always a strange thing. Heck, Joshua Mikel, the drummer from Look Mexico, wrote a piece for Buzzgrinder last year (Vote Or Dye? Author Andrew Keen, 2007).
Since this was my first time seeing the band, I didn’t know what to expect. And, well, as you can see above, I sure didn’t see that coming. That was during an instrumental piece, and it was a hoot. When onstage the band played with a confidence and vigor that I don’t see much from out-of-towners when they come here and play small clubs in Brooklyn. Bravo.
Previous to all this I was able to enjoy some fine drink and pizza with the band. Long story, but I now owe Josh a dollar, which I needed for a tip. Not exactly an ethical move on my part, being a "media guy" and spending time with a "touring band." But Josh told me some pretty saucy stuff off the record, so that dollar went a long way. These guys are fun, but told me they favor Chicago deep-dish pizza over New York style, so I threw my drink in their face and pooped on their tour bus.
Aside from that, check them out when they’re in your town.

They played on Saturday a few blocks from my house. I thought about shelling out the cash to see them, but I started feeling sick Friday and felt terrible by Saturday when they played here.

Hey Seth,
give me that dollar back or I will get someone to stab you. Also… when you poop on people’s tour buses, it is bad etiquette to post about it on your website afterwards. I guess you are hardcore dude at heart. If you want, I’ll give you that dollar for keeps… if you do a post about our new music video…
