Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards Nominees Announced, No Metal In Sights

The Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards are coming up, and I guess that’s a big deal, especially since the nominees were announced yesterday. Gallows is up for Best Live Band, Everytime I Die is up for Breakthrough Artist and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster for Best Underground Band. Brace yourself, though, for the Best Album nominees:

AVENGED SEVENFOLD – “Avenged Sevenfold”
DOWN - “Over The Under”
CHILDREN OF BODOM - “Blooddrunk”
ATREYU - “Leads Sails Paper Anchor”
TESTAMENT - “The Formation of Damnation”

For real? Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold are as metal as Children Of Bodom and Testament? That’s like saying Warrant was just as metal as Testament in the early ’90s.
