:: Metal Hammer magazine has a metal cover. Sales still “dropped just 1.2% year on year to 48,540 during the first half of 2008.” [link, No Rock and Roll Fun]
:: I missed this, and yet my life is still fulfilling; The Dillinger Four Leak drama wrap-up.
:: Zao will be recording with Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying.
:: Bands lose members, the sky is still blue.
:: Cattle Decapitation singer Travis Ryan on the new breed of bands; “Some bands are just signed based on their MySpace hits and how many full color shirt designs they have.”
I am genuinely excited that zao is recording new stuff, and I don’t care who knows it.
Ditto. Eff the haters.
Gonna hate for just a little bit then say that I am anxious to see if this next record is better than the last Zao installment. Did not enjoy the vocals or overall production of The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here. I am a big fan of older zao music which isn’t very far back to say earlier cause I like everything prior to that cd. I also would want to say that though AILD’s Tim and his various acts are a bit overrated at the moment, I did not hate AILD’s cd’s all prior to thier newest cd. I thuroughly enjoyed Tim and Zao’s lead singer (cant remember which one) together on the song Control. So if two bands that in the past have been spot on make a good record together, it may be original and atractive. I just hope it isn’t hyped I.E Austrian Death Machine and An Ocean Between Us.
Zao needs to make another full-fledged concept album. I always prefer when they do that (and that’s like, what, 70-80% of their album output anyway).
