New Releases: Thrice, Justice, The Welcome Wagon
No surprise that it’s another small release week. Mostly unknown or undesirable releases, with a few gems, namely the stateside release of the Justice DVD that I want, a Thrice live DVD and a Cat Power EP.
There’s also a debut from a new Asthmatic Kitty band called The Welcome Wagon that our old pal Jon Shell tipped me off about. They sound a lot like Sufjan Stevens, so if you swing that way, check them out.
:: Alice Russell, Pot of Gold (Six Degrees)
:: Arrington De Dionyso, I See Beyond the Black Sun (K)
:: B. Fleischman, Angst Is Not a Weltanschauung! (Morr Music)
:: Cat Power, Dark End of the Street EP (Matador)
:: Charlie Louvin, Sings Murder Ballads & Disaster Songs (Tompkins Square)
:: Common, Universal Mind Control (Geffen)
:: The Damned, So, Who’s Paranoid? (02.)
:: DM Stith, Curtain Speeches EP (Asthmatic Kitty)
:: El Guincho, Alegranza (XL)
:: Headlights, Remixes (Polyvinyl)
:: John Zorn, The Crucible (Tzadik)
:: Joker’s Daughter, Worm’s Head (Team Love)

Did I miss anything? Post it in the comments.

Guns Up! has a DVD, and Genghis Tron has a remix CD that made me vomit when I heard it.

I thought the original Board Up The House was ok, but not near good enough to justify a remix cd.
