Notable Numbers: Staind, The Academy Is…, The Acacia Strain
Some sales numbers from last week.
Staind – The Illusion of Progress: Sold 92,000
According to Billboard, the band’s “last three albums had all debuted at No. 1, with 2001’s Break the Cycle shifting a whopping 716,000 copies in its opening week.” Ouch.
The Academy Is… – Fast Times at Barrington High: Opened with 23,000.
Black Stone Cherry – Folklore and Superstition: 14,000
Toadies – No Deliverance: 9,000
The Acacia Strain – Continent: 5,600
Singer Vincent Bennett says, “Obviously, we’re really excited we made charts… at same time it’s really hard to sell records with all the people downloading nowadays.”

Kudos to the Toadies for sure.
No kudos for Staind however. It’s the same song each time. Call in the Nickelback syndrome.

Staind still opens 70,000 higher than the new Copeland will. Bet it.
