Pitchfork Slams Black Kids Album
Pitchfork creates a ROFL moment on the internets by not just giving the latest Black Kids album, Partie Traumatic, a paltry 3.3 rating… nope.
See, they skip writing the usual poly-syllabic dissertation and instead, well — just click over to see. [link, Absolute Punk]
After the jump, their video for I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend which I’m sure will help you come up with your own conclusions on this band.

If The Cure and The Killers were combined, really watered down, and bought all their clothes from American Apparel and lived in Brooklyn, this would be it.

I thought it was a cornball move. Pitchfork is suspect anyway, all of their reviews scream “arrogant hipster with too much power”. Nas just got a 3 point whatever. ROFLable

I was listening to the new album earlier and telling Sean that they sound like Robert Smith if he were happy.
This whole Pitchfork fiasco is just further proof that, while not always, they often resort to attention whoring when they know the spotlight is on them for the reviews people care about.

Remember Honeylocust? Screaming Giant band? The singer and the drummer are from that band!
LOLz
Pitchfork’s cock just got super huge from making, and now “breaking” this band.

@joshua @xforewarnedx – that is hilarious! Wasn’t a fan of the first, and even less of a fan of this new stuff (though it is pretty catchy & Killers-esque)

Pretty sure they named their band “The Black Kids” so that you couldn’t insult their band w/out sounding racist.

I personally like this band and the fact that two of the members used to be in Honeylocust just makes it all the better. I remember seeing Honeylocust when I was sixteen and thinking they were an awesome ska band because they had breakdowns and screaming. Ahhh good times.

I don’t like any of these kinds of bands, but I have to say that Pitchfork is a gigantic shitpile of suck.
