Rush on The Colbert Report

This is Rush’s first appearance on American TV in 33 years, as Colbert mentions, so I figured this is worthy of a lazy weekend post.

Look for Colbert’s premature segue into the commercial break in the middle of Tom Sawyer. Does being unsure about whether it was scripted or accidental make me gullible?

Funny that he made fun of Tom Sawyer being long when it only clocks in at 4 and a half minutes. Long for the typical ultra-compact radio fare, I suppose, but short by Rush standards. Not too mention the fact that out of a lot of Prog bands, Rush tends to have shorter song lengths.

    But yeah, really good/funny.

Good points, mag. They’re also one of the only prog-influenced bands that are listenable, in terms of normal people. No casual music fan is going to tune in to some band playing 5-minute masturbatory guitar solos in 20 different time sigs.
