Jon Foreman of the band Switchfoot talks about mixing things up at their shows:
“We really don’t try to do the same show twice,” he said. “We feed off the audience’s energy and that affects how the show goes. We perform mostly our own stuff but every now and then we’ll thrown in an ironic cover. The other night, we did Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love.”
Video of them performing this ironic cover after the jump.
haha… ok, i did enjoy that. Plus, Beyonce is very attractive
I like it when bands do covers you’d never expect them too. I like this cover, and I kinda like Switchfoot too.
SEEEEEEEEEETH http://www.myspace.com/TrenchesOfficial !!!!!! New Track!!!!!
This actually isn’t too bad.
I’m not crazy about Switchfoot, but they’re solid and I’ve never heard a song from them that I hated.

Every now and then I announce an ironic comment.
thanks jay *face turns red from embarrassment*
Swithfoot wins haha. Always had a soft spot for them. John is a great singer/songwriter.
I actually hated it. It’s an embarrassment for a band that releases solid material to ruin a song like that.
Did not like Switchfoot’s cover. But I’ll admit, the first I heard this song was a cover; by the Powerhouse house band (mostly members of Hillsong United and a local R&B group). They played a blazing, off-the-hook version of this song, with crunching guitars and a real! horn section…I mixed the music that night and was blown away…went out and downloaded the original and was severely let down. Tulele Falatolo and the gang totally have it over Beyonce and her chums. And Switchfoot? Stick to the alt-rock, methinks.
this is so old it’s got grandkids and retired to florida.
My body is F#@in’ BOOTYLICIOUS.
Harv Lived.
Yup, let’s cover some Beyonce cos you know, she’s hurtin’ for money.
p.s. I liked it.
