If you missed the VH1 Rock Honors for The Who last night, like I did, you might be interested in these videos. The Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters videos didn’t wow me, but the Flaming Lips and Tenacious D clips sure did. OK, maybe they didn’t wow, but they were good. And, of course, The Who is The Who. What else can you say?
These bands suck, i want to see more “Hot Topic” bands.
This was great. I DVRed it and watched it several times. Daultry sounded a bit rough, but it was still really good. I thought the Foo Fighters and the Flaming Lips were freaking awesome. I thought Pearl Jam’s opening with Rain Down On Me was a bit lame but they tore it up w/ Can You See the Real Me. Hoping they would have went into 5:15 after that! Quadrophenia kicks ass.
I skipped through the stupid mall rock band that the chick from “That 70s Show” introduced every time. Made it into their performance about 15 seconds before skipping that crap.
The Who has by far the best light show of any band out there.
No Rush = no care.
Wait, there’s FF. That’s alright.
I was disappointed no one covered Substitute. Daultry did sound rough during Baba but he got stronger after it.
pearl jam made everyone else sound like amateurs (except the who, obviously) on the show….i think foo fighters and the flaming lips sounded pretty bad when compared to them
I disagree. I thought Pearl Jam came across as artsy fartsy.
And I said, “Rain Down on Me” ha! What am I listening to!?
Not to dis on Pearl Jam too much (I make it known, I’m not a fan). I thought they did a pretty good job at “The Real Me” (my favorite Who song).
I recorded the whole show, but unfortunately the first 7 minutes, were recorded muted. I tried to see the Pearl Jam video, and there’s a message saying “this video is not available on your country”…
if you have it, can you send me an mp3 with the first 7 minutes of the show (rock honors) so I can edit my video?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Who can still rock it.
