Vans Warped Tour 2008 It’s that time of year — time to slip on the skate shoes, pile into your parents’ car and spend countless hours listening to bands, buying shirts and being marketed to. With an even bigger roster than in ‘07, Buzzgrinder put together this page for you to get the most enjoyment out of ~~Wapred~~ Warped Tour, or at least give you more to make fun of. Warped Tour: 2007 Compilation
This two-disc companion piece to the 2007 round of the venerable Vans-sponsored Warped Tour offers up an intriguingly eclectic assemblage of artists. Highlights of the 50-track collection include the raucous “Requiem for Dissent” by the veteran punk-pop act Bad Religion and “The Arms of Sorrow,” a dramatic number by the metalcore group Killswitch Engage, which provide a nice contrast to the set’s lighter fare, represented most notably by Meg & Dia’s sensitive “Monster.”

This seems like a mostly emo/scene boring Warped Tour like Chiodos/Coheed & Cambria/Linkin Park concert last night.

I see myself going last minute IF there are any bands worth seeing going to sac.

Yeah, Underoath & Chiodos really made the Warped Tour possible. I can’t believe Kevin Lyman is still having the tour without them.

You do realize that the tour has been around since 1994? Underoath’s first time playing was in 2002, so it’s pretty safe to say that the tour will be still be able to go on without UO. And why would you have a problem with a Christian band playing Warped when that’s exactly what UO is?

Why is everyone complaining? Go or don’t go. I think overall Warp is serving its Purpose. there are 3 types of bands they want on warp tour- Good Bands no one knows but will know. Old bands that everyone loves and want to see again, and bands that are big right now. - They have all the above for the most part

So far I can pick out these genres easy
- Hardcore/ Metalcore (not the punk hardcore)
- Screamo/ emo (might as well lump um together- because the original emo is irrelevant now)
- Pop punk (maybe a little too much)
- Punk (next to none- the old ways have died)
- Ska (next to none- does no one skank anymore?)

some genres are unrepresented (progressive)or underrepresented, but they are present. Warped Tour is a business and has been for a long time. It has to appeal to the masses.

I have paid $8 at the Bronx Undergound Shows for a better lineup of hometown bands, But I still am going to this for Norma Jean, Alesana, the Devil Wears Prada, and even Mayday Parade. I like everything so I have no care for whats “good”.

I like underoath as well. But im not at all disappointed with this lineup.

The best way to do it. Add up the number of bands u want to see and multiply it by 20- if the number goes over the ticket price then save your money and see each individual band

Id also like to know what Dr. Jones considers “good” music?

Blink 182 was good because they were catchy and fun and interesting. Not for their instrumental abilties. they are not punk though- they are pop punk.

I got money that says that Dr. Jones used to go to the older warp tour before the big names/ razzle dazzle/ and all that crap. Back when people liked punk music. Back when there were raging circle pits and when having a mohawk was a real statement and not a fashion statement.
