A Grand Design: The Crucified
The Crucified – 25 Years
Release date: June 30, 2009

“The Cru” has succumbed to the virus that affects middle-aged rockers and causes them to reform their earlier — sometimes more popular — bands, even if their career in the industry had remained intact. With this comes re-releases, if not new recordings. 25 Years encompasses their entire discography, from the regrettable early punk years to the much better thrash-punk (I still spin the self-titled).
I’m glad the cover isn’t too busy because I’m partial to their logo, where they had the chutzpah to place a scripture reference, albeit subtly. Their website features the cover with the nail and crown of thorns in the background, which I assume is a more accurate rendering.
Now all I need is an Outer Circle reunion and I will be even happier.
