Be My Bro-Entine: Mike Patton
Being a online music nerd has its perks, but unlike our music-producing associates, we don’t have the privilege of having legions of fans throw themselves at us (except for maybe Blake, but that’s stretching it). This year, the Buzzgrinder writers decided to turn the social aspect of the industry on its head and ask the rock star of our choice to be our valentine.
I don’t swing that way and I don’t think you do but that’s not to say this day can’t mean the world to us. We can make use of a double spa package and claim the day as ours. The suds from the soaking and the tough touches from slender hands can make all our stresses go away. You can let go of whatever makes you lose your cool at Ipecac Records and I can forget so many rude people buy coffee.
Maybe David Lynch can come and move us to a state of complete relaxation through some of his devilish organ playing. And, if you feel so inclined, you can sing a sweet Italian love song. That could be a little gift for the girls at the spa.
From there we can play video games like neither of us have jobs, however; if anything involves an X-Box you’ll have to bring yours. I don’t have one. And I promise through all this I won’t ask about the fantasy of a Faith No More reunion; I’ll be thinking about it—the entire time—but I won’t ask. I promise my refrain.
So Mike, let’s do this. We can also go throw fecal remains from fourteen different animals at members of Wolfmother.
