Being a online music nerd has its perks, but unlike our music-producing associates, we don’t have the privilege of having legions of fans throw themselves at us (except for maybe Blake, but that’s stretching it). This year, the Buzzgrinder writers decided to turn the social aspect of the industry on its head and ask the rock star of our choice to be our valentine.

Dear Alison Sudol (aka A Fine Frenzy),

If Adele can’t make it, would you like to be my backup Valentine? If you had released an album in the last year I might have put you before her; my heart was yours before Adele’s name was ever mentioned.

I know you’re working on a new album, so you’ll be on top again in no time. (Get your mind out of the gutter, dirty.)

You only live a few hours away from me, and my awesomeness is so huge I have a hard time imagining you’ve never heard of me. So really, I’m doing this as a favor to you.
