Drink Up Buttercup Has New Label, Single

It’s awesome that the Drink Up Buttercup boys have been getting some national recognition as of late. And it looks like that buzz has turned into something tangible, in the form of a deal with Yep Roc!
So I’m pretty stoked to see what they come up with for the new record, which is supposed to be out early 2010. But until then, Drink Up has given us a new single, Even Think, to celebrate the signing. And if that wasn’t enough, Cale Parks and Andrew W.K. are going to be covering the song sometime soon.

Drink Up Buttercup is unequivocally the worst band I have ever seen. The singer is actually talented, but it’s lost in the no-talent-hack-ness of the rest of the band who care more about stage presence than talent. It was terrible. I don’t get the hype, which, as you’ve pointed out, has been over the top.
Bridges & Powerlines and Clues were of course both amazing at that show though.

Saw Drink Up in State College PA earlier this week and “unequivocally” understand “all the hype”! They are not only reminiscent of the early Who with their over the top energy level but their musicianship is top notch and each of their songs are absolutely original and creative . They’re destined for great things, DONT MISS THEM when they come to your town!!!

Terrible band. James is a fine singer… but the others are simply in the way. All (local) hype, no substance.
