Jaydiohead Shows Up Late, Explodes Your Brain Anyway
If there were an award ceremony called the Mashies (someone Google that, it probably exists), Jaydiohead would have just won album of the year for 2009.
DJs of the world: why didn’t you think of this like two years ago when mashups were still hot and fresh? Jay-Z released the Black Album a capella tracks so long ago that I’m tired of hearing the countless remixes and went back to spinning the original album almost exclusively. And Radiohead? Only one of the most remixed bands of all time.
Luckily, this is an outstanding piece of work so it doesn’t lose points for its lateness. Go check it out before some record company issues a takedown notice.

I saw this linked off of greenplastic.com and listened to it ALL day yesterday. I like it quite a bit. If you broz get bored and you happen to like RH, I have an RH cover on my music page. Just sayin’, ya know.

Yeah, I had pretty low expectations. The Grey Album with the Beatles, blah blah…a million mash-ups. It actually sounds like Radiohead songs instead of the annoying “take an obscure 2 beats no one can recognize and build the whole song on it” method.

Whut? The Grey Album was so good because Danger Mouse didn’t just put together Beatles instrumentals with Jay Z acapellas, but actually built something new out of the White Album while keeping it recognizable. Plus the beats are sick. This Jaydiohead business is just looped sections of Radiohead songs, with a few added beats and crappy synths. Any monkey with Ableton put rap over any song in 20 minutes.
Mashup albums that are better than this and took effort to make:
Go Home Productions – Spliced Krispies
Legion of Doom – Incorporated
Yea Big + Kid Static & The Mae Shi – HLLLYEA
ToTom – Bootwards, pt. 1 & 2 -

sorry Alex, but you are missing the point. this shit is pop art – and its great. its not meant to be some complex DJ study record. come back when you have some less obscure references and a tad less musical elitism.
peace.
