It’s a good thing for fans who were packing St. Louis’ Off Broadway to see King Khan & BBQ Show that Deer Tick frontman John McCauley is engaged to a member of openers Those Darlins. “Why?” you ask. Well, it’s because McCauley took the stage to perform an impromptu set when King Khan and his boys didn’t show up last night.

At the time, no one knew what had happened — just that Khan, his BBQ Show compadre Mark Sultan and their tour manager were nowhere to be found and hadn’t been heard from all evening.

But it turns out that, according to Khan’s people, the three were arrested by police in Hopkinsville, Ky., with drug possession being the rumored charge. And while Khan and Sultan appear to be out of jail, their tour manager is still stuck in a cell. How about that?
