Morning Buzz: Cave In, Blink 182, Rza, Black Keys
:: I never would’ve guessed that the Metal Sucks dudes are big Brian Setzer fans. I want to rock this town inside out and all, too, but still.
:: Cave In frontman Stephen Brodsky has some solo shows lined up with Annuals and The Dear Hunter (but not Deerhunter).
:: Wow, this takes vacuity to a whole new level! Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus is working with Leighton Meester for her new album. Words can’t express the chasm this news leaves in my soul.
:: Speaking of indescribably sad, the Insane Clown Posse makes $10 million a year. A year!
:: Rza and The Black Keys doing an album together? Hmm. That’ll either be the best album of the century or just a notch below Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
:: Spinner laid out 10 notable jams where one half of the duet involved was dead when the song was released. The best one? Easy. Kenny G and Louis Armstrong, duh.
:: Billy Mays deserves to be honored Halloween-style. But if you aren’t donning the blue shirt and metal shaving/magnet pen beard, then what are you wearing for trick or treat this weekend?

Good for ICP, as retarded as they are. They made a name for themselves before the internet, with no major label and no help from MTV.

dooods, i’m a big hip hop fan and this Blakroc (black keys + rappers) has been fantastic so far. I’ve heard 2 tracks, one featuring mos def and jim jones and the other one you boys have posted with rza and pharoahe monch. i’m diggin tthe hell out of it. i wasn’t a huge fan of the last black keys album just b/c of the production (which was danger mouse.) there was just too much, not enough lo-fi rawness and their sound needs that. so far these new tracks have that lo-fi, raw production quality that i think enhances the black keys tunes. thoughts anyone else? i’m sure lots of folks will hate it. oh and here’s the mos def, jim jones track: http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/09/black_keys_jim_jones_mos_def_h.html
