Morning Buzz: Devin Townsend, King Khan, WOXY

:: Ken Ober, host of the MTV show Remote Control that ran from 1987 to 1991– which I always remember watching when I was too young to really wrap my head around the show and thinking, “Hmm, there’s something here, but I’m too young to wrap my head around it” — has passed away at 52.

:: Metal Sucks is being transformed into Devin Townsend Sucks today, with Townsend taking guest editor duties to mark the release of his new album, Addicted.

:: King Khan & BBQ Show hit the road again after the band’s tour manager took the fall for the band pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

:: Now that WOXY is all up and running at their new location in Austin, Texas, we’ll be getting some new Lounge Acts.

:: Relapse is putting out the new Mammoth Grinder album. While we haven’t heard it yet, we’ll give two thumbs up to a band with the word “grinder” in their name every time. Except for Vaj Grinder. They only get one thumb up.

:: Not only do Good Old War and Cast Spells have a split EP coming out, but they’re going to be hocking the release together on the road.

:: And don’t forget to nominate three albums for our “best of the decade” list.
