Morning Buzz: Idolator, Jerry Fuchs, Them Crooked Vultures

:: It took me longer than I’d like to admit to get on the Idolator bandwagon (thanks mostly to its place in the Gawker family at the time), but editor Maura Johnston won me over. It was refreshing to see her call shenanigans on the bullshit going on all over the music-related interwebs. Well, Maura announced yesterday that she was leaving Idolator. No Maura = no Idolator.

:: Drummer Jerry Fuchs — who lent his skin-beating talents to !!!, Maserati and The Juan Maclean, among others — has passed away after falling down an elevator shaft while trying to jump out of a broken elevator car.

:: Want to hear the entire Them Crooked Vultures album for free? Of course you do.

:: Didn’t expect to see a Where the Wild Things Are contest on Buddyhead, but I’m not complaining. It’s free stuff.

:: Unsurprisingly, Amy Winehouse is addicted to something. Surprisingly, it’s not a drug. At least not in this instance. It looks like she’s addicted to boob jobs.

It’s like Winehouse is determined to experience every different way someone can become a trainwreck.
