   imo the best way to get folks who devour music to devour music is (as a band) to not cater to any fan, ever. if you’re not your own biggest fan when writing music, than you’re not challenging yourself enough. to many bands write music without ever thinking “we can do better”. thats why there are so many stop/go (or just sloppy) transistions in metalcore. i could really go on and on with more reasons but i actually have to do work at work today.
