Morning Buzz: Pearl Jam, Ted Leo, Division Day, Iggy Pop

:: It wouldn’t be a normal day on Buzzgrinder without mentioning Ted Leo, right? What’s not so normal is that when ole Theodore couldn’t make it to open up for Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready still decided to jam with The Pharmacists instead.

:: Spinner says “You Oughta Know” Lullabye Arkestra. We agree.

:: Division Day‘s Kevin Lenhart had a nice little talk with Aquarium Drunkard about sustainability and greeniness.

:: Death Cab for Cutie‘s Chris Walla is currently hard at work with Someone Still Loves Your Boris Yeltsin on a new album.

:: Stereogum has plenty of shots from Outside Lands over the weekend.

:: Iggy Pop has teamed up with Ida Maria for a new take on her jam Oh My God. You’d think that would work. It’s not exactly Pop and Sum 41 teaming up, after all. But I’m not so sure. Where do you fall?

:: Random tracks that don’t suck:
Torche – Healer
State Bird – I Saw the Light
Superdrag – 1970 (Stooges cover)

Yea, Iggy’s current froggy lounge singer voice gets lost in the mix. I saw her do a cover of “I Wanna be Your Dog” last month that did justice to the original.
