Morning Buzz: The Who, Pixies, Pentagram, Mastodon
:: Finally, a band is playing the Super Bowl halftime show that I care about: The Who. Hells yes!
:: Pentagram and Gates of Slumber are planning a few dates in January. Sadly, none of them are remotely close to me.
:: If one version of Crack the Skye wasn’t good enough for you, then you’re in luck. Mastodon is releasing a special edition of the album.
:: Done Waiting says Rush becomes bearable when you slow the music down and turn them into a doom band. I think Jay might beg to differ. Then again, he might like them more when that happens.
:: Tera Melos is in the studio working on some new material.
:: Primavera has announced that Pixies will be headlining next year’s fest.

DoomRush link is blocked @ work, but the only drawback to that idea is it might take away from some of Peart’s fills.
Will investigate this at home and report my findings.

The Who? Nice. I’ll have to make sure to watch more than just the ads during the Super Bowl this year.

That doom metal Rush song sounds kinda like Type O Negative at parts. Crazy.

yyz might sound pretty cool slowed down, but really, rush songs (except their last record) should remain untouched. you don’t mess with perfection.

I liked it…it sounded like Rush slowed down. No surprises.
