Morning Buzz: Weezer, Sufjan Stevens, Ozzy, Flaming Lips

:: I’m with Paste on their list of 10 Bands That Prove Emo Wasn’t Always for the Hot Topic Tween Set — to an extent. They might weight Midwest emo a little too heavily (Rites of Spring being the only first wave band listed), but the real travesty is that people still think Weezer is emo. I get why you might think that, but no. Just no.

:: Not only is Sufjan Stevens performing at ATP New York this Saturday, but it’s been announced that he’ll play Seven Swans in its entirety. Just a second, I have to pick my jaw up off the floor.

:: Today is Ozzy Osbourne Day. Too easy.

:: Spinner keeps talking about Beatles songs they freakin’ love.

:: Wayne Coyne seems to have Win Butler and the gang in his sites again. I love flamewars like this. You know, when the word flame is a pun. I’m just wondering which one wins in a boxing match. Any speculation on that?

    I’m both excited and a little bummed about the Sufjan news. It’s one of my favorite albums, but it’s also my first time seeing him. I was hoping for the full orchestral experience.
