My Morning Jacket Packs MSG in NYC on NYE
It’s still hard to think about My Morning Jacket the way The Associated Press described the band: “… among our era’s greatest bands.” I’m always thinking of the little ole too-jangly-to-ever-be-wildly-popular, alt-country quintet from Kantuck that presented itself on Tennessee Fire.
That’s why I find it even stranger that MMJ was able to pack Madison Square Garden — on New Year’s Eve, of all nights! If you find it as hard to believe as I do, Brooklynvegan has proof that My Morning Jacket tore faces off at the world’s most famous arena, in the form of what seems like nine dozen photos from Kyle Dean Reinford (like the one above).
